Filiform warts appear on the face, neck, lips, nose, and eyelids. They are common in areas with thinner skin. They have long trunks or stalks. Like other warts, they are contagious and can spread through something as simple as sharing towels. From over 100 strains of the HPV virus, only about 4 cause Filiform warts.
Since these warts often appear on or near the face, it is suggested that you do not remove them yourself. Your doctor may burn them off, freeze them off with cryotherapy, or remove them through surgery.
